Support for Dropouts to complete their Secondary Education :
Drop outs who wish to complete their Secondary Education are taken through a year long program by Pratham Education Foundation for preparing for Secondary Exams.
Pratham Ahmedabad Education Foundation raises donations which help the students to pay their registration and exam fees for the Secondary Exams.
The girls/boys/women have dropped out of schools due to a variety of reasons, which include access to schools, distance and mobility issues, socio economic factors, failure and lack of interest in studying.
“Second Chance” under the Pratham Open School of Education (POSE) program is Pratham’s initiative that helps women in underserved areas of the country, who have dropped out of school, to finish their Secondary School Education. The program started in 2011 with a pilot phase in 10 centers in Maharashtra with 390 enrolled students.
The POSE program has expanded significantly in the last 4 years and is currently spread over 33 centers across nine states: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Telangana. With an average of over a hundred students enrolled in each centre, POSE reached more than 4,500 students in 2014-15. And over the four years, Pratham Open School of Education program has reached out to over 17000 women and girls
